Darren Bent finds the barn door

England was a big winner on a busy day of international soccer friendlies when it rallied to beat Denmark, 2-1, in Copenhagen on Wednesday.

Games featuring Germany-Italy, France-Brazil, Argentina-Portugal and world champion Spain against Colombia gave the first international date of the year a World Cup feel as Europe’s teams brushed off winter cobwebs before the resumption of Euro 2012 qualifiers next month.

Denmark took the lead against England at Parken Stadium with Daniel Agger, one of five players in Denmark’s starting lineup based in England, scoring on a superbly executed header after eight minutes.

England equalized two minutes later on a tap-in by Darren Bent, before his Aston Villa teammate Ashley Young scored his first goal for England after 68 minutes.
